It's odd to me how I manage to go through life oblivious to all sorts of things. I only discover new things as they present themselves to me.

It's like I'm secure enough in knowing exactly what I like and to focus only on that.

Or, I'm just oblivious.

At any rate, I have just now fallen in love with Bjork. Turns out that most of the pop imagery I adore was at some point engineered/initiated/exploited and developed by her imagination.

Verdict: either the cutest crazy lady ever, or the craziest cute lady ever.

Also, her type of crazy is both high brow crazy and low brow crazy.

High brow crazy: google image search Stelarc, kind of imagery.

Low brow crazy: "He left me! My life is over! F*** him!" mentality

Pretty cool all around.

Oh man I love Bjork so much. Unfortunately, my adoration took the turn it so often does and became obsession, resulting in my being sick of all her albums from listening to them so much I memorized them--I also did this with Kanye West. And now I can barely listen to their old albums, and in the case of Bjork, her new stuff isn't nearly as good, at least for me. But yeah, Bjork is awesome. I have a DVD of her music videos, too, which I highly recommend!

That's what I watched! I requested something arty, sans subtitles and that's what Billy put in! So I got them all in one fell swoop! AND I never would have sought out the collection on my own, which is what sparked the need to blog: The complete inability for me to discover things myself...

Isn't that odd?

“Have you seen ‘Kill Bill 2?’” Mrs. Cohen asked. She had returned from the basement with two license plates, both turned to hide the lettering. “Remember the car that Uma Thurman drives in the movie?”
“Kill Bill 2” is known for several things, among them Ms. Thurman’s chic yellow jumpsuit, the scattershot martial arts scenes and the cheeky wordplay. The car that Ms. Thurman’s character drives is one of the lesser items on the list.
“It’s a Karmann Ghia convertible,” Mrs. Cohen said. “Remember her name?”
Mrs. Cohen paused briefly before answering. “Beatrix Kiddo,” she said, at which point she flipped the license plates around to reveal: KIDDOCAR.
“Kiddo” was the affectionate nickname that Sam had given her. Until recently, she had it displayed front and center on her car. Mrs. Cohen says she is now too old to be known as Kiddo, though her youthful spirit would still justify the nickname. (The car’s plates now read MY73GHIA.)

Bjork sure loves crooning about people's 'no-no special places' a lot. I like that. I also like that she guest-starred on Space Ghost Coast to Coast once. Seem to remember the premise of the episode was them being married somehow? Also some reference to her peeing on his couch. I like that, too. All of it in general, not just the couch-peeing part specifically. That would just be weird. In an uncool (but still acceptable!) non-Bjork-weird kind of way.
